Typography mirrors identity, with each letterform shaped by the community it belongs to. Our identities form through systems of difference, echoing poststructuralist critiques of otherness. "Gendered Type" is a booklet that explores how typography can emphasize arbitrary gender signifiers, revealing a misogynistic narrative where femininity is depicted as weak and degenerate. The design interrogates these stereotypes while pushing visual boundaries and referencing key historical typographers, offering a critical lens on the role of type in shaping societal perceptions of gender.
